Durham PreK is entering its fourth full school year! Five classrooms opened in the spring of 2019 and we have been expanding ever since. As we prepare to launch our Meet the Sites social media campaign, we want to introduce you to all of the Durham PreK sites to kick us off!
A 4-year-old preschool site is considered a Durham PreK site when they meet the quality standards set by the Durham PreK Governance Committee, are part of the Durham PreK family application process and receive local Durham County funds to support their high-quality program. To learn more about how local dollars support public preschool and to review past site application documents, view our Become a Site page.
Durham PreK sites also expand access to pre-K for the community by offering free enrollment to families with lower and middle incomes, implementing an affordable sliding-scale for families with higher incomes, and opening new classrooms around the county. To read more about the family eligibility requirements for Durham PreK, view our Program Types and Eligibility page.
All of the sites below are partially or fully funded by local Durham County dollars. Sites with partial funding also receive either NC Pre-K, Durham Public Schools, or Durham Head Start funding, or a combination of more than two funding streams.
