We have begun recruiting teachers and centers to participate in Durham’s Early Childhood Educator Apprenticeships, and have been thrilled to connect with so many current or aspiring teachers who are interested in completing higher degrees to further their careers in early childhood education.

In July, Linking Connections Learning Center invited Child Care Services Association and Durham Tech to speak with a cohort of 5 teachers interested in joining the apprenticeship program together. This group of teachers will receive scholarships covering 100% of their tuition and textbooks for early childhood courses they plan to complete together. Apprentices will receive completion bonuses and more support along the way towards achieving their educational goals, while the center will receive a 50% salary match for apprentices through Building Bright Futures.
